Gordon Neill and Linda Julia Paolucci took up improv to fix their terrible personalities. It didn't work. Their show is a mix of salty and sweet, ribald humour, nihilism and an underlying optimism. Two dirtbags (with hearts of gold, naturally) in slow, funny, sometimes gross, always weird, often wonderful narrative improv. They are the weirdos, Mister.
Maribeth Monroe and Jaime Moyer have performed their two man show at theaters all over the country, including headlining spots at The Dallas Comedy Festival, Femprov Fest, and Out of Bounds. Our cast includes Marty Adams, Herbie Barnes, Jan Caruana, Kerry Griffin, Liz Johnston, and Lisa Merchant. Our host is Ron Tite, with Musical Director Nicola Dempsey. Here’s how it works: we interview two different celebrity guests. But all of that becomes irrelevant when they get together on stage to perform at Toronto's Big City Improv Festival!
They will be doing their signature show ""Guess Who?"" in which they play a game of ""Guess Who?"" on stage. Yeah, the whole time. That's the schtick. But instead of questions like ""Does he have glasses?"" or ""Is she blonde?"" (NO and YES), their characters ask more abstract questions like ""Does she resent her father?"" or ""Is he unable to feel vulnerable?"" (DEFINITELY and WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME THAT?)"

In the vein of kids adventure films such as IT, E.T., and The Goonies, this improvised comedy draws its inspiration from the everyday fears of children (both real and imagined) and translates them into manifested supernatural forms.

SYNC is a mind-bending 60-minute improvised play in 2 acts, each of which shows the same time frame from two different perspectives.
Act 1 takes place in a single location (for example, a living room) for 30 minutes, and Act 2 takes place in an adjacent location (for example, a kitchen) during the same 30-minute time frame. Performed by an ensemble of some of Toronto's most celebrated improvisers, SYNC promises an evening of geometric entertainment (let's call it GeoProv) and the time-honored question: if you could re-live an experience, would it end the same way?
The Lobster Quandary, Magdalena Barys and Topher Martin, first met in a Second City Training Center improv class in 2012 in which their very first scene together involved rubbing animal feces on one another for the supposed health benefits. They've been performing together ever since. A high energy improv duo, who love to entertain each other as much as they love entertaining others.
Jan Caruana and Rob Baker are awkward. Jan has never had a relationship last longer than 6 months and Rob was fired from an umbrella factory. They are a couple of train wrecks. But they are also hilarious. That Moment When explores two characters on the cusp of something big. It’s that flash of eye contact from across the room at a party. It’s shoulders bumping too hard on a crowded subway platform. It’s a pigeon landing on your sandwich. It’s a 60-Minute improv scene that strips the form down to the bare minimum.
Having worked together on the Canadian Comedy Award Winner, Show Stopping Number and Toronto Fringe Festival Patron’s Pick About An Hour, Jan and Rob are so pumped to be together again. They have brought their special brand of honest and brash improv to stages across the country and believe that improv can leave an audience changed...or at the very least, able to forget about the shitty TTC for an hour.
